What if a qualification never became obsolete? This is the challenge that aivancity has chosen to take on by officially launching its Diploma Update Guarantee©, a concept unique in the world and for which a patent application has been filed, which transforms a degree into a genuine, living asset of skills.

At a time when artificial intelligence, data and emerging technologies are reshaping professions at an unprecedented pace, aivancity holds a firm conviction: the value of a degree is no longer measured solely at the moment it is awarded, but by its ability to remain relevant throughout a career.

For decades, higher education has primarily focused on facilitating entry into the labour market. Today, the real challenge is that of sustainable employability. Training alone is no longer enough; graduates must be supported throughout their career journey.

01A degree with no expiry date

At the heart of the Qualification Update Guarantee© lies a structured educational programme, designed to provide a practical response to the rapid evolution of skills in the fields of artificial intelligence, data and digital transformation.

Each year, aivancity analyses technological, regulatory and professional developments with its experts and partners to identify the skills that have become critical. Three main categories are examined:

Technological: Key technical skills in AI, data and digital technology.
Methodological &professional: the practices and know-how specific to each professional field.
Cross-cutting &ethical: The human, ethical and governance skills relating to AI.

On this basis, the school offers tailored refresher modules, available to graduates in various formats to suit their professional commitments.

Free choice ofskills: Each graduate selects the activities corresponding to the skill sets they wish to update, according to their needs and career path.

Teaching tothesamehigh standards: Face-to-facesessionsalongside students and online courses designed by aivancity’s academic staff, assessed according to the same academic criteria.

Certified updates on theblockchain: Validated skills result in an official update to the qualification, recorded on the blockchain via a partnership with BCdiploma: ensuring authenticity, traceability and verifiability over time.

In this way, the qualification becomes a dynamic document, continuously reflecting the graduate’s actual level of skills.

Just a few weeks after its launch, the Diploma Update Guarantee© has met with particularly encouraging success.

This initial campaign was offered entirely free of charge, as part of a 10-year commitment for graduates of the Grande École Programme and a 5-year commitment for Bachelor’s and MSc graduates, to remove barriers to continuing professional development and promote equitable access to skills updating.

For a scheme that is entirely unprecedented in higher education, this uptake rate reflects graduates’ expectations in the face of rapid changes in skills requirements and confirms the relevance of a model based on lifelong learning.

04A new responsibility for higher education institutions

Through this initiative, aivancity aims to spark a broader debate on the evolving role of higher education institutions. At a time when knowledge is rapidly becoming obsolete, a degree can no longer be regarded as the definitive culmination of an educational journey. It must become the starting point for a lasting relationship between an institution and its graduates.

The Diploma Update Guarantee© reflects this ambition. It embodies a renewed concept of academic responsibility: an institution that continues to support its graduates, update their skills and strengthen their ability to thrive in a constantly changing world.
