A bespoke induction programme

aivancity and LinkedIn have joined forces to offer aivancity students a unique experience before their programme actually begins. ‘Boarding for aivancity’ is a bespoke induction programme offered to aivancity students to help them approach their studies at the leading artificial intelligence institution with confidence.

To help them make the most of the period leading up to the start of term – particularly the summer holidays – aivancity has developed, in collaboration with LinkedIn Learning, a bespoke preparatory programme tailored to each new student’s academic background.

Indeed, the programme will vary depending on whether the student holds a science or arts A-level, and whether they have studied business or mathematics.

Personalised onboarding programme
​This programme therefore offers all new students a series of 100 per cent online courses that will help them settle more easily into aivancity’s hybrid education and training programme. It will be complemented by a refresher course, held on campus, covering the following key topics:
  • AI ethics & society
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Mathematics for artificial intelligence
  • Introduction to data analysis and visualisation
  • Machine learning
  • Fundamentals of finance
  • Fundamentals of marketing
  • Human resources management

At the moment, I’m preparing for my A-levels, but at the same time I’m starting to get to grips with the introductory modules for the Bachelor’s degree. When I enrolled, aivancity sent me some study materials to help me prepare, so that I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the new subjects when the new academic year starts. It’s called ‘Boarding for aivancity’! This way of welcoming us is really interesting and helps us feel confident.

The personalisation of learning is one of the most important challenges facing the education system of the future. It involves responding to the diversity and cognitive heterogeneity of learners by taking into account the individual characteristics of each pupil: interests; abilities; background; difficulties; learning styles (approach, pace, concentration span, etc.), so that everyone can progress and achieve their learning objectives, whilst also making the education system more effective and equitable.
Through various initiatives, including ‘Boarding for aivancity’, the school implements differentiated and personalised teaching practices that encourage a diverse intake of students, particularly those with different academic backgrounds.
aivancity is also using artificial intelligence (AI) to develop solutions capable of creating personalised and evolving learning pathways. Adaptive learning is not a new concept in the field of digital education, but it now benefits from the contributions of connectionist AI and, thanks to machine learning, enables the design of highly granular learning pathways, leading to personalised training programmes.
