This module is the first part of the ‘Neural Networks and Deep Learning’ certificate . The aim is to explore the fundamentals of artificial neural networks, their theory and their business applications.

This qualification can be accrued over a period of 5 years

This course will provide you with:
  • A basic understanding of artificial neural networks and their business applications
  • An understanding of the technical aspects of deep learning
  • Knowledge of the components of a deep neural network and how they relate to one another.

  • Fundamentals of artificial neural networks, their theory and their business applications.

  • The main concepts covered in this module are: the TensorFlow library, neural networks, forward and backward propagation, and the perceptron.

Initialisation, Calibration and Fine-tuning

  • A focus on the technical aspects of deep learning and its role in business.

  • The main concepts covered in this module are: initialisation, regularisation and optimisation, and hyperparameter selection.

Building an Artificial Neural Network

  • How to build an artificial neural network model using the TensorFlow and Keras libraries to address a business challenge.

  • The main concepts covered in this module are: artificial neural networks, and the TensorFlow and Keras libraries.
