ai-ethical: a project to provide a framework for responsible AI

Launched by Numeum, ai-ethical is an initiative designed to help organisations develop AI systems that respect fundamental rights. It is based on four pillars:

  • An educational booklet to raise awareness and train those involved in AI on ethical issues.
  • A manifesto enabling organisations to formalise their commitment to responsible AI.
  • An implementation tool offering practical recommendations for integrating ethics throughout the lifecycle of AI solutions.
  • A committed community bringing together businesses, schools and institutions ready to promote these best practices.

The 15 October 2024 framework: a turning point for ethical AI

Last October, the ai-ethical initiative unveiled an enhanced version of its tools to promote responsible artificial intelligence. This update is based on two key elements:

  • An educational booklet: A detailed guide designed to raise awareness and train those involved in AI on ethical issues. It provides an in-depth understanding of the ethical challenges involved in the development and use of AI, offering specific resources to adopt responsible practices right from the design phase.
  • An implementation tool: A practical resource that supports professionals in the practical application of ethical principles throughout the lifecycle of an AI solution. This tool offers methods and resources to ensure that the systems developed respect fundamental human rights and the ethical values defined by ai-ethical.

These additions strengthen the foundations of the initiative, which are based on four pillars:

  • A manifesto: Enabling organisations to formalise their commitment to ethical AI by design.
  • A committed community: Bringing together partners and signatories dedicated to promoting AI practices that respect fundamental human rights.

By committing to this manifesto, signatories join a community dedicated to promoting more responsible AI solutions. The initiative offers free access to the educational booklet and the implementation tool, thereby supporting stakeholders wishing to place ethics at the heart of their activities.
