They will have until May 2025 to complete their commitment. To facilitate their participation, Impact Campus has selected a wide range of organisations in the Paris region, where aivancity is particularly well-established. Students will be able to choose between a project defined by Impact Campus or propose their own civic engagement project.
This partnership enables students to undertake voluntary work for the benefit of the community, in line with aivancity’s values regarding social and environmental responsibility. More than 200 students will take part in this first edition in 2024.
An impact-focused programme
aivancity aims to train students who are technically competent and aware of societal challenges.
Inspired by the ecological emergency and young people’s growing desire to get involved, this programme—developed in collaboration with Impact Campus—places students at the heart of the action.
- Responsibility: Encouraging students to understand and take action in response to current social and environmental challenges. The programme doubles the time dedicated to these issues, so that every student can reflect on the impacts of their decisions in a changing world.
- Ethics: To encourage students to become actively involved in causes of public interest. Through their assignments, they will be required to take part in hands-on activities, working directly with beneficiaries. Whether in the fields of education, the environment or social solidarity, this immersion is designed to turn theory into practical experience.
- Employability: Bydeveloping soft skills and strengthening their professional approach through hands-on experience, the programme aims to turn them into more well-rounded professionals. These practical placements will enable students to gain a better understanding of the realities of the sectors in which they might work, whilst equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of the world of work.
- Local engagement: Strengthening links between aivancity and local stakeholders. In collaboration with Impact Campus, students will have the opportunity to get involved with local organisations serving the public interest, thereby contributing directly to addressing societal challenges in their local area. The aim is to move from global reflection to local action, enabling students to see the direct impact of their contribution within their community.
A flexible model tailored to students’ needs
The placements offered by Impact Campus cover a range of fields, from the environment to social solidarity, including education and culture. This wide range of options allows each student to get involved in areas that match their interests whilst contributing to the public good.
This partnership represents an opportunity for aivancity students to combine their academic learning with a tangible contribution to the major challenges of the 21st century.
“This programme reinforces our commitment to an education that trains not only AI experts, but also engaged citizens who are aware of their impact on the world,” explains Dr Tawhid CHTIOUI, Founding President of aivancity.
