The endowment fund: an innovative tool for funding philanthropy

An innovative tool for funding philanthropy, the endowment fund combines the strengths of a non-profit organisation under the 1901 Act and a foundation. As a legal entity, it consists of an irrevocable allocation of assets for the fulfilment of a mission or a project in the public interest.

The aivancity endowment fund aims to contribute to the development of diversity and social inclusion within aivancity, notably by enabling the funding of student scholarships.

It also aims to develop research activities that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, whilst incorporating the principles of trust and ethics.

The constitutional principle of equal access to education for all citizens and the undeniable role of education as a means of social mobility, helping to reduce social and economic inequalities, are the driving forces behind the creation of this endowment fund.
Beyond its technical challenges, AI today raises numerous questions about its implications for business and management, as well as for humanity and the society of tomorrow. The aivancity endowment fund therefore also aims, by funding research and development projects, to advance the practical applications of AI whilst taking into account changes in business practices and the expectations of society.
