Responsibility lies at the heart of our educational mission

In order to raise our students’ awareness of societal issues and develop their sense of responsibility and ethics, a one-semester civic engagement programme is compulsory for all students on aivancity’s Grande École Programme and Bachelor’s degrees.

Designed to foster students’ social engagement, the civic engagement project is fully aligned with the strengthening of the ethical dimension – a cornerstone of all aivancity programmes – and fits perfectly with the commitments upheld by the school as a mission-driven organisation.

The overall aim of this educational experience is to encourage students to reflect on commitment, the motivations of volunteers, how an organisation operates, and the role of civil society in human development.

The placement may take the form of voluntary work with a charity or a charity-based project approved by the programme management. It is organised as full days or half-days, depending on the student’s timetable, in a variety of fields such as health, education, social inclusion, diversity and solidarity, amongst others.
