The Learning Trip

Understanding Morocco’s AI ecosystem
from the inside

An academic cooperation programme combining lectures on artificial intelligence, visits to research and innovation centres, and cultural immersion, in partnership with a leading Moroccan higher education group.

Every year, aivancity organises this Learning Trip in partnership withISGA (Institut SupĂ©rieur d’IngĂ©nierie et des Affaires), which has campuses in Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech.

Unlike a standard study trip, this programme includes lectures led by ISGA lecturers and Moroccan speakers: AI applied to healthcare and education, AI in finance and marketing, practical AI case studies, all culminating in a project presentation.

In addition, there will be visits to key sites within the Moroccan tech ecosystem: the Orange Digital Centre, the CNRST and its data centre, the CitĂ© de l’Innovation in Marrakech, and UM6P with its StarGate incubator and the 1337 coding school. All of this takes place against the backdrop of a rich cultural immersion across three of the country’s major cities.

Why Morocco

What the Moroccan ecosystem
teaches us about AI and Africa

Morocco is establishing itself as a hub for artificial intelligence in Africa, combining public research, private innovation and international cooperation – an ecosystem that can only be fully understood by experiencing it first-hand.

01
Morocco, Africa’s AI hub
Strategically positioned between Europe and Africa, with a rapidly growing academic and technological ecosystem.
02
Franco-Moroccan academic cooperation
The partnership with ISGA is an example of practical collaboration between French and Moroccan institutions.
03
AI applied to the continent’s challenges
Health, education, agriculture, finance: lectures and practical case studies demonstrate how AI can be used to tackle real-world challenges in Africa.
04
National research infrastructures
The CNRST, its data centre and the MARWAN network provide an insight into the organisation of research and data at a national level.
05
A dynamic innovation ecosystem
Orange Digital Centre, CitĂ© de l’Innovation, UM6P, StarGate and the 1337 coding school form a complete chain, from training to entrepreneurship.
06
Intercultural immersion as a skill
Working and interacting with ISGA students and lecturers develops an ability to collaborate internationally that can be directly applied in the workplace.
