Grande École Programme

The international, firmly rooted
in the route

Two key international immersion experiences form the backbone of the Grande École Programme: an AI Learning Trip to an emerging country in the third year, followed by a Learning Trip to Silicon Valley in the fourth year.

Year 3

AI Study Trip to an emerging country

Programme overview

AI at the heart of economies emerging

Every year, aivancity offers its third-year students the opportunity to take part in a learning trip to an emerging country. In addition, a ‘learning trip’ dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) in an emerging country – an initiative focused on exploring the opportunities, challenges and developments relating to AI in Morocco and India, is offered to third-year students. The programme lasts three weeks, followed by a week of optional cultural immersion.

Learning objectives
01
AI ecosystem
To explore the AI ecosystem in these emerging economies, including start-ups, established companies, research centres and government initiatives in the field of AI.
02
Use cases for AI
To explore specific applications of AI in various sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, etc., in Morocco and India.
03
Technology infrastructure
Assess the state of the technological infrastructure required for the development and deployment of AI, including access to high-speed internet, data availability, etc.
04
Ethics and regulation
To understand the ethical and regulatory considerations surrounding the use of AI in these emerging economies, as well as government initiatives aimed at regulating this technology.
This study trip focusing on AI in emerging economies will enable students to gain an understanding of the unique opportunities and specific challenges associated with the development and adoption of this technology in these developing regions.

Study Trip to Silicon Valley

Programme overview

Berkeley and Silicon Valley,
the cradle of global AI

At the end of the fourth year of the Grande École Programme, aivancity offers its students the opportunity to undertake a three-week learning trip. Students travel to the United States for a three-week learning trip to UC Berkeley, followed by a one-week period of independent cultural immersion, which includes writing a ‘surprise report’.

Why Berkeley and Silicon Valley?

aivancity’s ‘Grande Ecole’-style artificial intelligence programme trains future AIgineers¼ capable of meeting the many economic and societal challenges associated with harnessing the potential of data and artificial intelligence: is one of the most profoundly transformative technologies in human history, on a par with fire or writing. The world will soon be populated by intelligent agents, some acting autonomously, others enhancing human intelligence, skills and performance. Some of these agents will be purely software-based, whilst others will be housed in robots, cars, drones, satellites and every conceivable type of hardware.

The San Francisco Bay Area, which includes Berkeley and Silicon Valley, has been at the forefront of numerous technological advances for decades. The key to this lies in the presence of universities with exceptionally strong technical programmes, the world’s largest ecosystem of technology companies and start-ups, and investors with budgets that remain unrivalled.

Learning objectives
1
To design and oversee the development of a product from start to finish using AI, from data selection and the assessment of equity, ethical and legal issues, through to measuring its impact in various technical, societal and commercial ways.
2
To understand the impact and opportunities offered by the latest technologies and methodologies, developed within the Berkeley and Silicon Valley ecosystems, for business development and management.
3
Manage and make the most of different types of feedback: technical, consumer and commercial strategy.
4
To test the limits of rapid iteration and agile development in a user-centred way.
5
Develop a strategy for increasing networking opportunities with technical and commercial leaders.
